IGNOU’s BAG program for Sociology comprises four semesters. In the first semester, BSOC–131, students are introduced to the nature and scope of sociology and its relationship with other social sciences. BSOC–131 provides insight into the concept of sociology in regards to its relations with political science, psychology, economics, history, and anthropology. The fundamental concepts, like socialization, structure and function, social control, status, community and social groups are also part of this curriculum.
